Being part of the armed forces is one of the toughest jobs in the world. You have to live in a completely foreign land, and you always have to keep in mind that there’s a big chance you’ll never get out alive. Aside from all these, you also have to endure living away from your loved ones all the time.
Noelle was a deaf Terrier Mix owned by a soldier. The pair loved each other very much and enjoyed their company together. Until such time, the soldier had to be deployed to another country, and no one knows how long.
Thus, Noelle was entrusted to a friend of the soldier that regularly volunteers at their local PetSmart adoption center. They were both sad that it had to happen, but they had to sacrifice their happiness for the country.
Since Noelle’s temporary parents are active volunteers, they regularly attend adoption events for dogs. With this, they usually let Noelle tag along to witness her furry friends going into forever homes.
It became such a regular activity that she resorted to just observing everything around her in silence. Little did this adorable dog know, she is bound to experience the biggest surprise in her entire life.
As she laid there inside her cage and waited patiently as the event goes on, she watched as each pup gets to walk away with their new families. It was evident in her eyes that she longed to see her dad again, but she has to wait until that day comes.
After hours of observing, she noticed a uniformed personnel walk towards her direction. When she finally locked eyes with him, she recognizes him and wags her tail endlessly.
When the woman behind the camera told the soldier to go get Noelle out, the dog waited in anticipation and kept circling inside her cage. The moment it was unlocked, she immediately jumped towards her dad in glee.
Noelle licked her dad with all her might and kept on jumping around as if saying, “I missed you, and I’m glad you’re finally back!”
