Heather Hensley is a Graphics, Website Designer, and Photographer. in Conroe, Texas. She owns Studio88 Photography & Design. She has three energetic dogs: Rocky, Georgie, and Lili.
Rocky is a Jackabee. He is 6. He was a rescue. Heather was out biking one time, and Rocky started following her. He had a collar with a phone number. Heather called and found out he was in foster care. Rocky kept getting returned when adopted because he was an escape artist, and his foster was having a hard time finding him his forever home. His foster mom told Heather that she could have him if she wanted him. Heather, “I was already in love, so of course, I took her up on it!”,
Heather shares that Rocky likes to jump up in her arms to be held and that he chews his nails to let Heather know it’s time for his pedicure.
“He is a constant source of love and entertainment! He’s everything to me”, Heather adds.
Georgie is a Mutt breed, may have a Heeler in him. He is 9.
Georgie also was a rescue. He was homeless, living behind Heather’s brother in law’s shop, so once again, Heather decided to foster him and ended up keeping him.
“I just love him so much, and the way he loves and protects me makes me feel incredibly special. He thinks he owns me. He’s definitely my protector.”
Georgie dances and groans when he’s hungry. And he likes to roll around in the sand.
And then there is Lili. A Ratcha – rat terrier and chihuahua mix. She is 3. She is also a rescue. Her previous owner surrendered her to be put down. My husband fell in love with her, and she became dog #3.
She likes to jump up and kiss our legs when we go hiking. He has this cute little yips when it is time for me to wake up or she wants attention!
“She’s my baby; she’s a part of me even if I didn’t make her. And knowing the horrible story of how she was turned in, and that she even trusts humans anymore is beyond me. Getting lucky enough to be her mom means everything to me.”
Rocky, Georgie, and Lili all love to hike or just lay in the sun in their backyard. They all love their begging bacon strips.
“Our bonding time consists of biking in the forest, bath time, and sleeping at night in the bed together.”
That’s one good thing about having a dog. They motivate and encourage us to go outside, enjoy nature, explore our part of the world. They are good companions and exercise buddies as well. Again, a link we have with our paws.
