Dogs usually love it when it rains However, it was difficult to assume all dogs loved being drenched in the rain, particularly if they were leashed and unable to move around, as was the case of a particular dog in the United Kingdom.
One golden retriever was found tied outside Morrisons, a supermarket store located in the UK. It had started to rain, leaving the waiting long-haired dog soaking wet.
A security guard noticed the poor dog getting wet, looking pitiful as it waited patiently by the side of the road. Thinking the pup might not fancy the rain as much as he did, the guard walked on over and opened his umbrella to shield the dog from the downpour. He hadn’t bothered protecting himself from the rain, letting the dog have the umbrella all to itself.
Mel Gracie, who was in her car that day, witnessed this man’s thoughtfulness as he looked after the dog. She quickly snapped a photo then uploaded it to her Twitter account, where she captioned the picture with encouraging words for the unknown security guard. As expected, the post went viral, and soon, Internet users traced the mysterious guard’s identity.
This man’s name was Ethan Dearman, and the internet immediately thanked him for his great act of kindness. He shared with the online community how he chanced upon the solitary dog sitting outside in the rain.
The rain hadn’t started yet when the golden retriever was tied to the metal post. When the rain eventually poured down, the guard was left with the option of using his umbrella to shelter the pup.
The photo already received more than 143k likes and with about 20k retweets. Everyone wholeheartedly agreed that he was a good caring man who put a dog’s wellbeing ahead of his own.
