A resident called the animal rescue organization “Hope For Paws” to inform them about a scared homeless dog who took refuge in her property. She asked the group if they could come to her house to save the pup and bring it with them to give it the help it needs. After receiving the call, the group then dispatched one of its members to the said location.
When the rescuer arrived, he immediately saw the pooch lying down beside the house rails shivering in fear. He was afraid that it might escape under the fences if he went inside, so he tried to snare it first. But the pup was so scared of getting touched that it retreated to a corner near the door.
He couldn’t reach the dog anymore, so he asked the home’s owner if he could get in. The resident then opened the gate for the HFP member to get closer to the dog. The member said that he recognized the place and remembered that he had been there five years ago and was also on a rescue mission.
When he approached the pooch, he didn’t want to seem threatening, so he crawled slowly towards it. He could see that it was still trembling, so he didn’t make any sudden movements that may startle it. Then after a few moments, he finally managed to put the snare on the pup and held it in his arms when he felt that it was already safe.
McKenzie, the dog’s new name, was then brought back home after relaxing a little and was given a bath when they arrived. Under the rescuers’ care, McKenzie slowly learned to let go of her constant fear and eventually became a playful and happy pup.
