Sometimes, life can work its way to mysteriously reunite us with lost friends from our childhood. Such was the case for Nicole Grimes, who got back together with her longtime childhood best friend, Chloe, a Pomeranian-Poodle mix, whom she was forced to drop off at a shelter 8 years prior.
Before being heartbreakingly dropped off at a shelter, Chloe and Nicole shared a bond that all of us can understand. The Pomeranian-Poodle mix had a special place in Nicole’s heart because her grandmother had gifted the pup to her when she was a child.
Nicole’s grandmother wanted to make sure Nicole never felt lonely, so she gave her a companion that would forever change her life. Being an only child, receiving Chloe was the best gift Nicole could have ever asked for.
For four years, Chloe and Nicole were inseparable. However, this companionship would soon come to an end when Nicole’s father got a home-based job that required quietness at all times.
Knowing this, Nicole’s family made the tough decision to drop the pup off at a shelter so she could find another family. This broke Nicole’s heart because she was hoping Chloe would be there throughout her teenage years to see her accomplish her milestones in life.
It wasn’t easy for Nicole to move on from her pup but she eventually had to. 8 years had passed from their separation and Nicole now had a daughter of her own. She wanted her daughter to experience having a companion to grow with so she thought of adopting a senior dog in need to fit this role.
To her surprise, she found a senior pup searching for a home that looked similar to Chloe. Upon reading through the pup’s details, it was apparent to her that this could be the same dog she dropped off at the shelter when she was a teenager.
Knowing this, Nicole raced to the shelter in the hopes of adopting the pup who turned out to be Chloe. Now that they’ve been reunited, nothing stands in their way of reliving the best memories from her childhood.
